Last week, USAID’s Challenge TB activity brought together hundreds of health officials from NTP and Vietnam Administration for HIV/AIDS Control (VAAC) to discuss the implementation of WHO’s recommendation of using the GeneXpert platform for TB and HIV tests.
Last week, Vietnam's National Assembly held its first ever National Education Conference with planning and financial support from USAID. With nearly 200 participants from academia, government, scholars, scientists, and development partners, the conference aimed to connect research, policy development, and lawmaking in order to bring education closer to the realities of life in a dynamic knowledge-based economy.
On September 21, USAID’s Governance for Inclusive Growth Program partnered with Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance (MOF) to hold the first annual Vietnam Finance Forum entitled "Public Finance Reform Towards Sustainable Development" to discuss and debate current public finance issues, including potential value-added tax (VAT) reforms.
Last week, USAID held a close-out event for the Unidentified Remains Project. USAID has been working with the U.S. Department of Justice’s International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) and eight public and private Vietnamese laboratories to implement this activity.
Today the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) launched Phase II of the Building Resilience to Natural Hazards in Central Vietnam project. Phase II will be implemented by the American Red Cross with five Consortium members: Vietnam Red Cross, Plan International, HelpAge International, Catholic Relief Services, and Save the Children.
