U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Acting Administrator Wade Warren will travel to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, from May 7-10, 2017; and to Lima, Peru, from May 11-12, 2017.

In Honduras, Warren will meet with USAID Mission staff from Central America and Mexico; review USAID programs that support U.S. national security objectives including addressing key drivers of migration to the United States; meet at-risk youth to understand their experiences; discuss human rights with local civil society organizations; discuss efforts to encourage good governance with representatives from MACCIH (the Mission Against Corruption and Impunity in Honduras); and meet with the Government of Honduras to discuss our continuing relationship, particularly in the areas of food security and citizen security.

While in Peru, the Acting Administrator will meet with USAID Mission staff from South America. His visit includes a review of USAID programs in the country; meetings with the Government of Peru to affirm our support for Peru's reconstruction following recent flooding; visits to alternative development sites, where farmers are successfully replacing coca production with high-value crops like cacao; and a visit to logging sites, where USAID is partnering with the Government of Peru to formalize logging and combat illegal deforestation.

Warren will be accompanied by Sarah-Ann Lynch, Acting Assistant Administrator for USAID's Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean.
