On May 25th, 2017, the Community Oriented Policing Activity (COPA) team hosted an open house at the Assadaka Center in a continued effort to bring together members of the Bendibane neighborhood and the police.
With just about a year from its launch, USAID’s Improving Deaf Children’s Reading through Technology program (IDCRT) is already making a great impact on both teachers and students through its newly-designed literacy software. To catalyze on this positive momentum, the program formed a Steering Committee composed of partner associations representatives to raise awareness for special education needs for deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) children.
In Morocco, 30 percent of the population is between 15 and 29 years old and the number of people reaching working age is increasing. But despite that fact, companies struggle to find employees. This is due to the severe deficit of marketable skills, which affects the whole region and plagues the operation and productivity of industrial sectors. In order to maintain economic growth, security, and stability, it is of paramount importance to respond to this problem and to close the skills gap, thereby creating employment for the youth, reducing poverty, and fostering wealth creation.

In support of the Government of Morocco’s efforts to increase civic participation, USAID is providing direct grants to five CSOs to strengthen their capacities to act as intermediary support organizations (ISOs) and engage with the government on behalf of the citizens.
