USAID launched a $40 million Jordan Workforce Development Project today in partnership with the Ministry of Labor to directly address the challenges facing Jordan’s job market.
Dr. Jim Barnhart was sworn in today as U. S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Mission Director for Jordan. USAID’s Acting Administrator Alfonso Lenhardt administered the oath of office.
Jordan and the United States benefit from a long-standing partnership – the value of which is measured in Jordan’s strong leadership role in the region, its strength as a moderate and stable ally in a tumultuous region, and in cooperation on numerous fronts, including the Middle East peace process and counter-terrorism, peacekeeping, and humanitarian efforts.
The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) hosted the inaugural meeting of the USAID-supported Jordan International Conferences Ambassador Program today. Through a series of trainings, the program assists Jordanians to gain international recognition in sectors such as medicine, academia, and business in order to promote Jordan as a viable destination for meetings and conferences.
An estimated 300 people involved with the U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) projects in northern Jordan met today at Qasr Al Nakheel Hall to discuss ways to expand services and reach more people.
