KABUL, AFGHANISTAN- The industrial park is one of three that will be constructed by USAID and managed by the Afghan Investment Support Agency.
On October 26, 2005, the Juma Mohammad Mohammadi Industrial Park was inaugurated by Afghanistan’s Minister of Commerce Mr. Hedayat Amin Arsala, Minister of Mines and Industries Mir Muhammad Sediq, U.S. Embassy Charge’ d’Affaires Mr. Richard Norland, Mr. Alonzo Fulgham, United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission Director, along with other officials from the Government of Afghanistan, the international community, and local private investors.
The industrial park is one of three that will be constructed by USAID and managed by the Afghan Investment Support Agency. The total project cost is expected to be over $20 million. The three parks will offer a modern, full-service business location for over 120 new businesses, which in turn could create up to 10,000 new jobs for Afghan citizens.
